About the NW Diversity Learning Series
WOW — the NW Diversity Learning Series celebrates its 10th year in 2008!
The NW Diversity Learning Series has become a popular diversity education resource in the Puget Sound Region. A collaborative venture, progressive companies and organizations joined forces 10 years ago to accelerate their diversity and inclusion efforts while at the same time lowering their costs.
The Series consists of bimonthly, morning workshops on cutting-edge diversity and inclusion topics. Every other month, managers and employees from the Sponsor organizations as well as individuals from other organizations in the Region, come together for a 3.5-hour interactive session. The session outcomes are to provide knowledge and skills about how to apply inclusion principles and strategies back in their workplaces.
The workshop facilitators are nationally recognized experts in their fields, and model diversity and inclusion values during their presentations and activities.
Each annual Series focuses on a theme; each of the six sessions during the year explore the theme. Now you can review all the Series themes on the 10 year history page.
The Series is hailed as an innovative regional learning resource; we know of no other like it in the United States.
The Series is organized by The GilDeane Group, Inc., a Hispanic-owned publishing, consulting and training firm in Seattle, Washington. The GilDeane Group celebrates 20 years of diversity publishing in 2008. It began publishing the hard copy journal, Cultural Diversity at Work, in October 1988, and has since extended that publication to an online archive on its website, DiversityCentral.com.
