    Consultant Profile: Wesley Profit, Ph.D.

    Dr Wesley Profit photoMicro-inequities/STEM Abuse Seminars

    Dr. Wesley Profit is a clinically trained psychologist, and also has a a law degree. Since the early 1970s, he has frequently conducted seminars on micro-aggressions, micro-inequities, and other examples of space, time, energy, and mobility (STEM) abuse.

    Dr. Profit has worked in a variety of settings and circumstances on issues of fundamental fairness in the workings of institutions, both public and private. He is an expert in small group dynamics, behavior under extreme stress, resilience, and resistance to change. He has created seminars for executives, managers, and employees, designed to identify and resolve obstacles to achieving improved performance, participation, and production. He is thoroughly familiar with various ways, both overt and subtle, in which group members can enhance or hinder the group's ability to complete tasks in a timely and satisfactory manner.

    Dr. Profit has worked with organizations, both large and small, to improve performance by creating conditions that facilitate increased participation across diverse backgrounds. He has taught at Harvard University, Boston College Graduate School of Social Work, and the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. In addition, he has given numerous lectures in colleges and universities throughout the country. Most recently, Dr. Profit co-authored two articles on stress in the Encyclopedia of Stress, First Edition, "Stress in Blacks" and "Minorities and Stress."

    He is based in Los Angeles, California.
