- The estimated Hispanic population of the United States is 44.3 million (as of July 1, 2006). People of Hispanic origin make up the largest ethnic or racial minority in the nation.
- 44 percent of New Mexico's population is Hispanic, the highest of any state in the United States.
- In 2002, there were 1.6 million Hispanic-owned businesses.
- In 2005, the median income of Hispanic households was $35,967.
- In the 2004 presidential election, 7.6 million Hispanic citizens voted. The percentage of Hispanic citizens voting--about 47 percent--did not change statistically from four years earlier.
- In 2006, 59 percent of Hispanics (25 and older) had at least a high school education.
